Being the Machine is a short film from an experimental project exploring co-creation, agency, and intimacy between humans and AI. In this study, design students engage in conversations with an AI language model, but with a twist, AI’s responses are spoken aloud by a human proxy, transforming the dynamic of connection and meaning-making.
MY ROLE
I was part of the Creative Connection Research Team as a research assistant under Jeongki Lim. In this film, I assisted during the filming process by operating the AI, contributed to post‑experiment data analysis, and developed the visual identity for the film and website using Squarespace.
For the screening event, I also built a chatbot that allows any participant to ask questions about the research or the event. ︎︎︎ Chat with the AI (It might take some time to load).
